Germany, 1946: Destroyed buildings, occupying forces, black market, denazification, and hidden war criminals. Minor Jackson has just survived World War II when the dwarf Nicolae Ploscaru, a short-statured Romanian nobleman, genius, and habitual liar, offers him an almost legal job: he is to track down the lost son of a Jewish family. But what sounds like a harmless family reunion turns into a race across the occupation zones – as the lost son turns out to be a professional killer, sought after by various intelligence agencies. Jackson and Ploscaru try to pit the different groups against each other – but can Jackson trust the dwarf?.
