Product details

The Frenchman Albert Camus, born in Algeria, is regarded as one of the most significant representatives of existentialist philosophy, alongside Jean-Paul Sartre, although he did not see himself as such. What he shared with Sartre was the belief that human life is random and lacks predetermined meaning. He went even further, viewing our existence as completely absurd. In several novels, plays, and essays, he explored how people can respond to this absurdity. His works have been widely read, and especially by younger people, he has been perceived as a liberator from old doctrines and conservative or religious values, rules, and commandments. Florian Russi has delved into the life and work of the thinker who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1957, summarizing his key thoughts and teachings.
