Product details

The new DGK Pocket Guideline is the German adaptation of the "2020 ESC Guidelines for the management of acute coronary syndromes in patients presenting without persistent ST-segment elevation". It offers physicians, medical students and assistants clearly presented and practice-relevant recommendations on the definition, diagnosis and therapy of acute coronary syndrome, updated according to the latest study results. - A special focus of the guideline is on the high number of graphical representations of the contents with many large illustrations and algorithms that can be quickly grasped. - In the diagnostic area, the focus is on the highly sensitive troponin tests and the currently recommended "rule in - rule out" algorithms 0 h/1 h or 0 h/2 h. - Current recommendations on non-invasive imaging and the most important differential diagnoses round off the diagnostic section. - The chapter on risk assessment summarises the importance of biomarkers, risk scores and bleeding risk. - In the area of drug therapy, the focus is on antithrombotic therapy with drug selection and duration according to individual ischaemia and bleeding risk. - Clear algorithms divided into peri-, post-interventional and maintenance therapy, as well as for antithrombotic therapy in patients with an indication for permanent oral anticoagulation, facilitate the understanding of this complex subject area. - Another focus of the guideline is on the diagnosis MINOCA = myocardial infarction without obstructive coronary disease. - Recommendations on invasive therapy, therapy in special patient groups (diabetes mellitus, heart failure, etc.) and long-term prevention round off the guideline.
