Based on the principles of Chinese medicinal teachings, the combinations are divided into 14 syndrome-related chapters, starting with combinations that relieve exterior conditions, followed by tonifying combinations and ending with purgative combinations. All 188 combinations follow a consistent structure: original source, point indications, execution, function, pathogenesis, key symptoms, explanation, commentary, clinical applications, and suggestions for modifications. The author has exclusively utilized Chinese primary sources, condensing therapeutic experiences from centuries and creating a tool that is both useful and unique, significantly expanding the possibilities of acupuncture in practice. New in the second edition: symptom-oriented expansions. The effective combinations of the Jin Three-Needle Technique can be used symptomatically on their own. When used in conjunction with the syndrome combinations described in the book, this allows the therapist maximum flexibility.
