After the Fire

The only way out of the darkness is to ignite a fire. Severely injured, 17-year-old Moonbeam lies in a hospital, facing a psychologist and an FBI agent. As one of the few survivors of the terrible fire disaster, she is asked to recount what life was like on the farm of the God Legionnaires. How did the horrific fire start, and what led to the shooting between the God Legionnaires and the police? So many have died. Hesitantly, Moonbeam begins to open up, believing that they want to help her, and starts to share what life was like before the fire and how it feels afterward. However, there is one thing she cannot reveal. Yet, she must speak of what she has done if she does not want to break apart. Awarded the German Youth Literature Prize.
