Adaptive Control

The textbook "Adaptive Control" in its second edition provides a comprehensive presentation of adaptive control technology, which enables the automatic and real-time maintenance of a desired performance level of a system, even when process or disturbance parameters are unknown and variable. The authors, Ioan Doré Landau, Rogelio Lozano, Mohammed M'Saad, and Alireza Karimi, present the challenges in this field and discuss solutions as well as their practical significance and application. A particular focus is placed on the discrete aspects of adaptive control to emphasize the relevance of digital computers in the practical implementation of the concepts. The second edition has been thoroughly revised and includes new chapters on multimodal adaptive control, direct and indirect adaptive control, as well as adaptive feedforward compensation of disturbances.
