Action medeor (medeor: I help, I heal) claims to be the largest medical aid organization in Europe. It is a registered association based in Tönisvorst in the Lower Rhine region. The first chairman is Heinz Gommans. Action medeor was founded on August 13, 1964, in Tönisvorst. In the early days, medications were collected, sorted, and sent to health stations abroad. When it became clear that the donated medications often did not meet the needs of the health stations, it was decided in 1967 to produce the required generics themselves.
