Acht Tage Revolution

Belarus, August 2020. The presidential election is in full swing. Artur Klinau, a writer and artist, receives a call: His daughter Marta has been arrested. He travels to Minsk and begins his search. In the overcrowded prisons of the city, people are being held who protested against massive electoral fraud and are now at the mercy of state violence. Shocking reports of torture are leaking out.

Klinau meticulously documents his experiences during these dramatic days. At the same time, he relates the events to the recent history of the country, exploring their political, historical, and social context. With a bitter, mocking stroke, he paints the portrait of a dictator, a sui generis 'artist' who creates his works with an axe.
