After completing his school education, Achim Kühn initially trained as a metal designer from 1956 to 1959 and then passed the master craftsman examination. This was followed by a study of architecture at the University of Architecture in Weimar in 1964 and additional training as a metal restorer. Since 1967, he has been running the studio and workshop of his father, Fritz Kühn (1910-1967), in Berlin-Bohnsdorf, together with his wife Helgard. His work encompasses architectural projects, public art, unique artworks, and small series. His architectural works can be found in over 80 locations across Germany.
