Accelerando
The Singularity. It is the era of the post-human. Artificial intelligences have surpassed the limits of human intellect. Biotechnological beings have nearly eradicated humanity. Molecular nanotechnology runs rampant, replicating and programming at will. Contact with extraterrestrial life becomes more urgent with each passing day.
Three generations of the Macx clan struggle to survive and thrive in this accelerated world: Manfred, an entrepreneur dealing in intelligence-enhancing technologies, whose mind is split between his physical surroundings and the internet; his daughter Amber, who is fleeing from her dominant mother and seeking her fortune in the outer system as a contract-bound astronaut; and Sirhan, Amber's son, whose fate is intertwined with that of all humanity.
For something is systematically dismantling the nine planets of the solar system. Something that exceeds human understanding. Something that does not require biological life in any form…
