Abolitionismus

Abolitionism refers to both a theoretical approach and a political and social movement that advocates for the abolition of state violence institutions such as prisons and police. In the tradition of the struggle against the enslavement of Black people, abolitionists emphasize the racist history of state violence apparatuses and their complicity with forms of capitalist exploitation and patriarchal oppression. This volume makes the key voices of this international discussion accessible in German for the first time. It includes texts by Angela Davis, Michel Foucault, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Ruth Wilson Gilmore, Amna Akbar, Joy James, Klaus Günther, Assa Traoré, Geoffroy de Lagasnerie, Mimi E. Kim, Sarah Lamble, Robyn Maynard, and Alex Vitale, among others.
