Poison in food is legal, consumers are systematically cheated. Healthy food that does not destroy the environment is only available to people with money. Consumers cannot defend themselves against this - certainly not with a "shopping cart policy" - because they have no rights and no power. The reason for this is not the much-maligned "cheap is cool" mentality of consumers, but rather the rules of the food market, which primarily serve the interests of the food industry. The environmental and consumer protection activist Thilo Bode rolls up the political background of these conditions for the first time. He demands consumer rights as fundamental civil rights and shows what needs to change politically. His appeal: Consumers must join forces and fight for their rights.
