Frankfurt Commissioner Andreas Rauscher feels as if he's been hit in the face. His uncle is thrown out of his apartment, his girlfriend (or ex?) refuses to speak to him, a janitor turns out to be a private detective and is soon found dead. The criminal police are investigating in a rental building in Sachsenhausen, and Rauscher quickly realizes that a highly explosive atmosphere has developed between the tenants of the building and their new landlord. Rauscher dives into a world filled with anger and fears for the future. The crime story is based on the current and precarious situation in the Frankfurt housing market, characterized by rising rents, skyrocketing property prices, and gentrification. The term "Entmietung" (eviction) is making the rounds. Long-time Frankfurt residents are struggling to cope with the sweeping changes. A beautiful new rental world or a reality that has long since become everyday life.
