Abenteur in Tibet

Sven Hedin - geographer, topographer, photographer, illustrator and travel writer - probably the last great land traveller. He spoke seven languages and his works were translated into more than 30 languages. His first great journey took him to Central Asia, where he explored the now dry salt lake of Lop-Nor and northern Tibet. Through these sometimes adventurous expeditions, he contributed to the opening up of Asia and covered more than 26,000 kilometres. His second expedition took him to Tibet, Kashmir and as far as Calcutta. Near the now completely dry salt lake Lop-Nor he discovers the ruins of the legendary royal city of Loulan. His third and last great expedition leads the adventurer to the Tibetan highlands, the deserts of Persia and the discovery of the Transhimalaya.
