A fundamental component of the course is the contrast pairs (e.g., nose - nuts). To grasp the different rhythms of the words, rhythmic clapping and speaking games, as well as a special syllable writing method, are practiced in parallel. The contrast pairs juxtapose words that sound similar but differ in rhythm (open, closed syllables). To be able to spontaneously write the consonant doubling, for example, in the word "Hütte" compared to "Hüte," one must perceive the different rhythms of the two words. This is achieved through practice in three phases: rhythmic speaking and clapping (musical accompaniment enhances motivation and learning success), speaking and stepping out the words, and writing in the syllable house. The compilation of the pairs trains each phenomenon related to double consonants, including "ck," "tz," umlauts, and diphthongs.
