Germany and Europe are increasingly evolving into a multicultural society with their pluralistic character. In the Federal Republic, nearly two million Muslims live, while in Europe there are thirty-five million, and over a billion worldwide. Nevertheless, many misunderstandings and prejudices about Islam and Muslims persist in Germany. The local media, with a few exceptions, contribute little to correcting false information about Islam. However, peaceful coexistence in our country is only possible if existing prejudices are dismantled and not constantly added to, as it is a short step from prejudice to condemnation. To counteract this development, we see our task as providing accurate and factual information about Islam and Muslims. This can best be achieved through a self-presentation. Therefore, we are publishing this brochure in the hope of contributing to the aforementioned goals. It provides concise and accurate information on the questions that Muslims are asked about Islam on a daily basis. '25 Questions about Islam' is based on an English brochure, the content of which we have adapted to local circumstances. In the fifth edition of this brochure, we have made further improvements. We are pleased that this small brochure has been so well received and look forward to further suggestions from our readers.
