Hubertus Ott has worked as a Western coach since the late 1980s. In 1992 he became an EMU judge and later also a NRHA judge. He played a major role in the development of the EMU rulebook and was known as moderator and seminar leader of numerous courses and lectures. In addition to three other books, numerous professional articles have been published by him. Philipp Martin Haug, Germany's first Western trainer "A" and owner of the Golden Riding Badge, has been working as a Western trainer since the beginning of 1999. Through consistent, horse-friendly training, he was able to win countless gold medals in Reining and Working Cowhorse at German and European Championships with the horses he trained right from the start.
