Hubertus Ott worked as a Western trainer since the late 1980s. In 1992, he became an EWU judge and later also an NRHA judge. He played a significant role in the development of the EWU rulebook and was known as a moderator and seminar leader for numerous courses and lectures. In addition to three other books, he published numerous specialized articles. Philipp Martin Haug, the first Western trainer "A" in Germany and holder of the Golden Riding Badge, has been working as a Western trainer since early 1999. Through consistent, horse-friendly training, he has been able to win countless gold medals in Reining and Working Cowhorse with the horses he trained at German and European championships from the very beginning.
