Most leg and handcuffs for domestic use have a lever to open the handcuffs yourself or without a key. These are real handcuffs, as used by the police, and can only be opened again with a key. The double-lock function is also available. This is a locking mechanism for the engaged handcuff. If the double-lock function is activated, the handcuff cannot close any further. This is an important function to prevent injuries. Locking is achieved by pressing the small pin at the top of the key into the opening provided in the handcuff.
