Chinchillas, hamsters, desert dwarf hamsters, and degus maintain their fur by "bathing" in sand. This sand from Science Selective is ideal for that! Offer your pet 2.5 cm of bath sand in a bathing house or bowl and allow it to bathe for a maximum of 10 to 20 minutes. Chinchillas enjoy a sand bath daily, while hamsters, dwarf hamsters, and degus do so about twice a week. Change the sand at least once a week and whenever it becomes soiled with feces or moisture.
