A nesting box should not be missing in any garden. This simple nesting box made from pure materials provides the robin with a good place to nest and helps to maintain or even increase the population of this bird species in a region. In winter, the birds often use the nesting box as a shelter. Hang the nesting box for the robin in a well-hidden location or just above the ground (up to 1.5 m) between dense bushes or climbing plants in a quiet and somewhat sheltered spot. It is best to place it in a quiet and somewhat protected area, not directly in the sun or on the rain side. When the nesting box is hung at a height of 1 to 5 m, it also provides a good nesting place for the European redstart and the red-throated diver. Autumn is the best time to clean the nesting box.
