This will not work mechanically: Devices with a connected current of over 10A no longer have a T13 plug (round pins) but a T23 plug (square/square pins), but the Smartplug has a T13 socket (round holes). The device drawing 16A cannot be plugged into the Smartplug at all. (T13 plugs fit into T23 sockets but not the other way round). The reason for this is to protect installations & devices that are only approved for 10A from damage - and in the worst case, fire. Because (permanent) overcurrent leads to damage.
