My diffuser always stops after 10 seconds even though I have set it to continuous mode. Can anyone help me? What am I doing wrong?

I had exactly the same problem with two diffusers (Jasmine and Mia) that I ordered this summer. Apparently, a lot of units were manufactured with defective sensors.

I suspect a technical defect, as my diffuser does not show this behaviour. It runs either at intervals (10 minutes on / 20 minutes off) or continuously. I suspect that the sensor for the water level is spinning and therefore switches off?
