We have been using essential oils from the specialist market since we bought them. This works without any problems. Just always use water first and then the essential oil. If you don't want any limescale residue, you can also use distilled water.

Yes, that is possible and works wonderfully. I also use essential oils from the specialist market (farfalla, Primavera, Aromalife).
