How do you remove the bar? Is dismantling as easy as assembling it?

yes - simply turn the two extendable parts anticlockwise, then the rod becomes shorter and detaches. It's quite simple :)
Disassembly as well as assembly very easy, stable hold (use for curtain camper bus, separation of driver's cabin with loading area, heavy night curtain with me, Tremola ST. Gottard twice without any noise etc.).
