Yes, in principle you can replace the table top.
A larger tabletop (e.g. 180 cm) is usually still feasible, above that it becomes critical. Make sure that the tabletop is not significantly heavier than the original and that the maximum load on the frame is not exceeded. What you put on the table later also plays a role.
