Product details

Albrecht Dürer was born in 1471 in Nuremberg and is considered one of the most significant German Renaissance artists. His interest in education and his outstanding talent in drawing helped Dürer to perfect and revolutionize the fields of woodcut and engraving, as well as to engage deeply with the foundations of art.

A particular example of his ability to depict things with precision can be seen in the present artwork. The accuracy with which grasses, herbs, and meadow flowers are represented in this watercolor continually astonishes the viewer.

The original hangs in the Albertina in Vienna and was created in 1503. It was painted with watercolor on paper.
