Even as a child, Walter Kössler, also known as Walko, wanted to write and illustrate children's books. However, he initially ventured into animation, working as a background artist for Walt Disney in London and Steven Spielberg's Amblimation studio, as well as serving as a production designer for numerous German film and TV productions. When he created an adventure featuring a rabbit and a bear for his son, he rediscovered his love for storytelling and has remained dedicated to it ever since. His children's book series "Hase und Holunderbär" has sold around 300,000 copies in the German-speaking world.
