Rosemary is an evergreen shrub and an ancient medicinal and culinary herb native to the Mediterranean region, preferring calcareous, sunny locations. Depending on the site, rosemary produces different chemotypes, such as R. CT Cineol or R. CT Verbenon. In ancient times, rosemary was dedicated to Aphrodite and symbolized fidelity. It was a component of the famous "Hungarian Water," one of the oldest perfumes. Additionally, rosemary is an important ingredient in the "Herbs of Provence" spice blend and a significant raw material for perfumery, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.
