Chamomile blue, also called true chamomile, is an annual herbaceous plant and thrives throughout Europe. Chamomile can grow up to 50 cm high and has white, characteristically fragrant flowers. The deep blue hue of the essential oil is created during distillation when chamazulene is formed. Chamomile has been known as a medicinal plant since ancient times. In naturopathy, chamomile blue is used for respiratory, stomach and intestinal complaints as well as skin problems.
