Product details
Bergamot gets its name from the Italian city of Bergamo. In Italy, bergamot has been used in natural medicine for a long time.
The bergamot tree is a type of orange tree and has a very similar appearance. It originally comes from the West Indies but is now cultivated in almost all tropical regions. The fruits are cold-pressed to extract essential oil, which contains about 40% linalyl acetate, as well as other components like bergapten, terpineol, and limonene.
Bergamot oil is often found in perfumes, such as Eau de Cologne.
It has a fresh, fruity, and floral scent. In the past, it was also used in dentistry, as a disinfectant during surgeries, and as a treatment for festering wounds.
