The Copayer or Copaiba is a non-thorny tree from South America, belonging to the Fabaceae family. It is called Copaïba by the indigenous people of the Amazon region. They use the oleoresin that exudes from its trunk to treat wounds and ulcers. This oleoresin is referred to as Copahu balm and contains a high concentration of aromatic molecules.
Copahu balm is used in fine perfumery. Its balsamic and woody scent is used to enhance oriental or woody accords. Its relaxing, earthy aroma, combined with orange and mandarin, promotes balance and harmony.
