Advent Calendar "Erfurt"

Erfurt is the capital of Thuringia. The Erfurt Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Severin Church together form the landmark of the medieval city of Erfurt. In the tower of St. Mary’s Cathedral hangs the largest freely swinging medieval bell in the world, known by the melodious name Gloriosa. The city of Erfurt is considered the largest contiguous historical monument in Germany. In the Cathedral Square at the foot of the Erfurt Cathedral, there is one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany. Located in the center of Germany, the city attracts thousands of tourists throughout the year.

The lovingly designed pictures behind the doors of this Advent calendar could very well be real images from the place depicted, evoking childhood memories. The shapes of the doors are integrated into the architecture in such a way that the overall picture remains intact, even when all the doors are opened.
