Kartell Bubble Club armchair

Bubble Club garden furniture series. Technically innovative design for terrace and garden: Philippe Starck collaborates with the Italian brand Kartell to create robust garden furniture without straying from his favorite material: plastic. Introduced in 2000 as a sofa, armchair, and side table, they represent a revolution in design, as they are made entirely of plastic and therefore lack a supporting frame of other materials. These so-called industrial garden furniture pieces impress not only with their weather-resistant and stable construction but also with their design: With the revival of the typical grandmother's couch, Philippe Starck defiantly appeals to the coziness that should also find its way to terraces and gardens. Bubble Club armchair. With its curved armrests (height 70 cm), the garden armchair evokes the cozy Biedermeier era; however, the plastic is by no means soft-padded due to its weather resistance. Instead, this bench-like yet voluminous garden armchair from Kartell allows for relaxed seating even with wet swimwear by the pool (seat height 45 cm). Awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 2001.
