Aalto Lantern. In line with the famous Savoy Vase by Alvar Aalto, iittala offers this stylistically matching tealight holder. When filled with a standard tealight or a pillar candle, the beauty of this glass is revealed, with its organic lines adding a contemporary touch to any setting. Just like its famous counterpart, this small candle holder is mouth-blown in seven intricate steps at the Finnish company iittala. A great deal of expertise is required to consistently produce this lantern in the envisioned perfect shape. What inspired the creator to the dreamlike, almost mystical wave form of the vases and candle holders remains unfathomable – yet it perfectly aligns with Alvar Aalto's general statement that form is a mystery.
