About the Travel Destination Lake Constance
In the tri-border area of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland lies a paradise vacation region, Lake Constance. From the Mediterranean atmosphere along the promenades to the viewpoints overlooking the pre-Alps, from apple orchards and vineyards to charming towns: the region offers an enormous variety for young and old alike.

Lake Constance essentially consists of several smaller lakes. At its center stands Constance, the unofficial capital of the region. To the west lies the Untersee with the island of Reichenau and its thousand-year cultural history. Further along from Stein am Rhein, the waters flow as a rushing river down to the Rhine Falls, Europe's largest waterfall. The largest part is the Obersee, stretching from Constance to Bregenz. The German side is lined with well-known places such as Friedrichshafen and Lindau, with its beautifully developed island. The world's largest lakeside stage in Bregenz, Vorarlberg hosts the Bregenz Festival every year.

The Swiss side features less-known places, but in the hinterland, the historic cultural metropolis of St. Gallen awaits visitors with its famous Abbey District. Above all, Lake Constance offers vacation fun for everyone. Active sports, cycling, hiking, sailing, observing in nature reserves, or even floating over Lake Constance in a Zeppelin – everything is possible here. Children enjoy the numerous adventure parks, climbing courses, and zoos. During the Alemannic Fasnet, the lake shows its cheerful side, and cultural festivals take place throughout the year.
