Although we are now living in the 21st century, patriarchy still prevails. Why is that? And what can each individual do to recognize and dismantle the often unconscious toxic structures? This anthology featuring well-known authors offers guidance. Resisting patriarchy is particularly challenging in everyday life. Much of it is so familiar to us that we don't even question it. Even self-proclaimed feminists often fall into the same traps. We exclude women through language, adhere to outdated notions of a happy nuclear family complete with traditional gender roles, or adapt to male-dominated and capitalist structures in order to succeed in our careers. The contributors to the anthology "Unlearn Patriarchy" share their experiences and explore their own detrimental thought patterns. They demonstrate how patriarchal patterns of behavior can be broken across all areas of society, from language and love to work, politics, education, and identity, making a better life possible for everyone. "Great structural barriers to thought are analyzed in this book by insightful minds. They help us unlearn what destroys the present and the future!" Luisa Neubauer.
