UK50-32 Augsburg

The official series of UK50 (surrounding map 1:50000) provides targeted recreational information for contiguous Bavarian regions. The base map is the TK50 (topographic map 1:50000) with UTM grid for GPS users and terrain representation. The UK50-32 shows the region west of Augsburg, bordered by Oberndorf am Lech in the north and Landsberg am Lech in the south. The landscape is characterized by forests, hills, and valleys. In the Swabian Baroque corner, magnificent churches adorn the panorama. Further south, the Lechfeld plain dominates. The sparsely populated Donauried in the north is also flat, but rather marshy. This diverse landscape offers countless opportunities for cyclists to explore the region. The nature park Augsburg-Westliche Wälder extends over Holzwinkel, Reischenau, and the Stauden. With its numerous designated cycling paths, it is a popular destination for excursions. Hikers also get their money's worth in this 1,200 square kilometer area, crisscrossed by rivers like Zusam and Schmutter. They can immerse themselves in nature on numerous developed hiking trails. Thanks to its history as a Roman garrison town and as a free imperial city, Augsburg offers many exciting sights.
