UK50-17 Frankenhöhe Nature Park

The official series of the UK50 (Surroundings Map 1:50000) provides targeted leisure information for contiguous Bavarian regions.
The map is based on the TK50 (Topographic Map 1:50000) with UTM grid for GPS users and terrain display.

When it comes to romance and sporting pleasure, the UK50-17 has a lot to offer. The map shows the entire Frankenhöhe Nature Park and foothills of the Steigerwald Nature Park. The area depicts Middle Franconia with the independent city of Ansbach. Ansbach lies on the historic Castle Road and is famous for the Hohenzollern Residence with its 27 state rooms and the magnificent Orangery in the Court Garden.
Sporty culinary enthusiasts can combine their hobbies along several carp trails. On the Romantic Road you pass the towns of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Feuchtwangen and Schillingsfürst, among others, with historic town centres worth seeing, medieval flair and castles and palaces. For MTB riders, the town of Ansbach offers a trekking bike and MTB circuit. Interesting sections for MTB riders are signposted separately.
Enthusiastic hikers will find beautiful views in this lovely, only slightly hilly landscape, e.g. along the quality hiking trail European watershed. It leads from Ansbach via Colmberg to Schnelldorf with a great view from the Gailnauer Berg. Beautiful day hikes are possible on the many hiking trails through the Frankenhöhe Nature Park and on the routes of the Franconian Albverein.
In the heart of the "Romantic Franconia" area, there are also many other leisure activities that are well-known beyond the region. The AquellaBad in Ansbach, the falconry in Schillingsfürst Castle, the Franconian Open Air Museum in Bad Windsheim or the Castle Experience Museum in Cadolzburg are also recommended destinations for family outings.
