Product details

None other than Joseph Beuys encouraged Udo Lindenberg to take up the brush. He urged Lindenberg to "just do it," because – according to Beuys – everyone is an artist in all areas of life.

Lindenberg states: "It's important to engage creatively. Even if you haven't learned it, you should have the courage to stand against all laws and simply do it with refreshing audacity. Sometimes, the most beautiful creations emerge from this."

Udo Lindenberg started with the Udograms – small figures of women and men with hats – from which his painting evolved over time. Since 1995, projects and series have emerged, such as the Cosmos Calendar, the Panic Figures, the Panic Comics, and the Likörelle – a patented invention of Lindenberg's – created at the bars around the world.

On the occasion of Goethe's 250th birthday, Udo Lindenberg painted the Faust cycle in 1999 for an exhibition at the Kunstsammlung Weimar. "So my works hung next to Leonardo Da Vinci, and I truly felt like a universal juggler in excellent company."

Shortly thereafter, for the initiative "Rock Against Right-Wing Violence," he created the series The Pimmelköppe, Nazi Pigs, and Skinheads – painted with blood and soil. The cycle "The Ten Commandments" from 2003 marked another creative highlight of the "Stricher from St. Georg" (Udo about Udo).

The cult book is now available again in the regular, unsigned edition.
