Product details
The official UK50 series (surrounding map 1:50000) provides targeted leisure information for contiguous Bavarian regions. The map is based on the TK50 (topographic map 1:50000) with UTM grid for GPS users and terrain representation. The UK50-34 effectively illustrates the districts of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen and Pfaffenhofen a.d. Ilm, located north of Munich, as well as the region around Ingolstadt. Predominantly flat to hilly landscapes offer ideal conditions for tours ranging from easy to sporty. For cyclists, for example, along the Danube, Paar, and Ilm rivers. For hikers, the southern part of the Altmühltal Nature Park and the area around Eichstätt and Solnhofen. In the largest contiguous low moor in southern Germany, the Donaumoos, it becomes a bit more leisurely. Here, it is pleasantly flat. The Hallertau (Holledau) is the largest hop-growing area in the world, featuring the German Hop Museum in Wolnzach. Not far from there is the home of the noble asparagus - Schrobenhausen, with the European Asparagus Museum. A must for culture enthusiasts is a visit to the Sisi Castle in Unterwittelsbach, a summer residence of the Empress. Also worth a trip is Neuburg a.d. Donau with its picturesque old town and the residence castle. Here, one can admire beautiful ecclesiastical and secular artworks. And not to forget - the Wittelsbacher Land, the cradle of Old Bavaria, as well as the former state fortress of Ingolstadt. Map sheet UK50-34 includes the districts of Pfaffenhofen a.d. Ilm and Neuburg-Schrobenhausen. Regions: Swabia, Upper Bavaria, Lower Bavaria, Hallertau, Holledau, Donaumoos, Dürnbucher Forest, Feilen Forest. Towns: Ingolstadt, Vohburg a.d.
