Topographical map of Bavaria Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, eastern part

The official series of UK50 (surrounding map 1:50000) provides targeted leisure information for contiguous Bavarian regions. The map is based on the TK50 (topographic map 1:50000) with UTM grid for GPS users and terrain representation. The UK50-27 depicts three notable nature parks. In the northern part of the map sheet, the eastern section of the hilly Upper Palatinate Forest is shown. Below it lies the eastern part of the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, traversed by the Regen River with the Cham-Further Basin. Following that is a northern section of the Bavarian Forest Nature Park. Cyclists will feel right at home on the varied routes. The bike paths along the Chamb between Cham and Furth im Wald are perfect for leisurely outings. More effort is required on one of the many MTB trails of the Trans Bayerwald routes and the Arberland mountain biking region. Hikers can experience the nature parks up close on long-distance hiking trails. Goldsteig, Oberpfalzweg, or Pandurensteig are recommended for this purpose. Many other paths, such as those around Eixendorfer See, Oberviechtach, at Hohen Bogen, or in Lamer Winkel, are beautiful excursion destinations. This also includes the regions of Grosser Arber and Grosser Osser. Top excursions for families include the high ropes course in Waldmünchen at Perlsee and the Churpfalzpark Loifling. The Miltach Castle and Falkenstein Castle delight culture enthusiasts. The historic town centers of Roding and Bad Kötzting are also worth seeing.
