A postcard from Cuba turns the small world of a tranquil Swiss seaside village upside down. A new neighbour arrives unexpectedly: the orphaned daughter of a Swiss expatriate and a Cuban woman. Two worlds and temperaments collide - the 17-year-old Caribbean island beauty and the villagers. She is assigned a role as a waitress in the inn that is not according to her, and the collected men quickly have their own fantasies. But it is the outsiders, mysteriously akin to her, to whom she herself is drawn without words.
