ETH professor and entrepreneur Anton Gunzinger has been dealing with the topic of energy transition for years. He envisions a Switzerland as it could be for future generations. Gunzinger is displeased with how Western countries, including Switzerland, waste oil resources without regard for the rest of the global population. He wants our descendants to not have to pay the price but to continue benefiting from our prosperity. However, he believes this is only possible if our economic and social model is radically restructured. In 'Plan B or Factor 10', the electrical engineer demonstrates how Switzerland can drastically reduce its energy consumption while maintaining the same standard of living. A prerequisite for this transformation is a full cost accounting for common goods such as energy, air, or public space.
