Since the 2017/18 school year, Low German has been a regular subject in schools in Mecklen- burg-Western Pomerania, and at six Pro l schools it is even a subject for the Abitur examination. However, a
textbook has been lacking until now. This work finally provides a remedy: It is a Low German textbook for beginners, starting in grade 7 and for those entering later, also for the education of students as well as for the further training of specialists in day care centers. The teaching and learning work is adapted to the topics and the procedures of the new framework plan Low German grades 7 to 12, which came into force in July 2017. The orthography is standardized according to the dictionaries of Renate Herrmann-Winter. Variants are indicated. Numerous illustrations and the Platt-speaking Plietschmann family guide the reader through the book in an entertaining way and provide support in this way.
