The Souverän is the classic from Pelikan. The production of the Souverän barrel involves a complex process, as a striped piece of cotton material is created in many steps according to a recipe specially developed for Pelikan. This material is then shaped and subsequently polished to contour with a diamond. The 24-carat gold-plated rings on the grip and cap are fitted with the utmost precision before the writing instrument is polished to a high gloss. The slightly springy, typical Pelikan beak clip gives this high-quality writing instrument its distinctive design. The Souverän M800 piston fountain pen features an 18-carat bicolor gold nib with rhodium decor and is available in nib widths EF, F, M, and B. The M nib provides a medium-width writing style and is particularly suitable for handwriting with slightly larger strokes.
