About the Oval Dragon Artwork: Inspired by The Lord of the Rings, George Powell commissioned artist VC Johnson in 1980 to create a new dragon graphic. He suggested designing it in a logo-like oval shape, as it was intended for stickers and T-shirts. The graphic was completed during the Gold Cup competition series, and both Caballero and McGill featured the graphic on their boards at the Upland Finals. The oval dragon was used on a range of decks and assemblies and became the official top graphic for all Powell-Peralta decks until it was replaced by the Winged Ripper graphic in 1987. Originally released: 1980 Artwork by: Vernon Courtlandt Johnson With clear background 3.5 x 5".
