The ATK100-7 Oberpfälzer Wald at a scale of 1:100,000 shows the eastern Bavarian border region between Tirschenreuth and Cham. The Oberpfälzer Wald is a paradise for cyclists with family-friendly river cycling paths along the Naab, Schwarzach, and Pfreimd, the Bockl cycling path, Bavaria's longest railway trail, and the cross-border Bavarian-Bohemian Friendship Trail. The idyllic low mountain landscape can also be explored on foot via the Goldsteig and Nurtschweg. The Volcano Experience Parkstein and the GEO Center Continental Deep Drilling provide insights into Earth’s history. A visit to the historic old towns of Amberg and Weiden, the festivals at Burg Leuchtenberg, or the rock cellars in Schwandorf promises plenty of variety.
