The Sardona Geopark brings the Earth's history to life in a contiguous area of the cantons of St. Gallen, Glarus, and Graubünden. The core area is the Sardona Tectonic Arena with the Glarus Overthrust, which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2008. Unique phenomena can be observed in the Sardona Geopark.

The area is special not only because of its geology but also due to the numerous mineral and ore deposits, which are now described for the first time in a publication. Additionally, the publication provides an overview of the area's geology, insights into mineralogy, topics on searching and collecting, and explains how mineral and ore deposits are formed.
