Materialien zum Zivilgesetzbuch Band IV

The fourth volume serves as the final piece of the edition of materials related to the Civil Code published in the Bernese Commentary. It contains the protocols of the two federal councils that discussed the draft of the Federal Council from May 28, 1904, between 1905 and 1907 (stenographic bulletins of the National and Council of States). This resulted—in the wake of a revision by the editorial committee—in the text of the Civil Code, which was adopted in the final vote and came into effect on January 1, 1912. Of particular significance are the introductory speeches by Eugen Huber on the individual articles, which can be considered the first lecture on the Civil Code.
