Product details

Attacked, fought against, demonized, and ultimately shot at, the revolutionary, theorist, and real politician Lenin attempted in 1917 to end a genocidal war and establish a socialist society. He hated war, warmongers, and the "leftist" enablers of war. He sought a break from Tsarism, capitalism, and the rule of both nobility and bourgeoisie. He achieved this in Russia, abandoned by the left in the West. Under his leadership, he had to navigate an unjust civil war and foreign intervention while rebuilding a deeply backward, impoverished, and devastated country. In seemingly hopeless circumstances, he sought and found solutions, paving the way to a new civilization. This opportunity was lost among his successors. Therefore, it is all the more important to reconstruct his way of thinking and political actions to examine what could still be useful today for a fundamental societal transformation, for the fight against war, and for securing peace.
